Meticuly Presents Global Impact of 3D-Printed Patient-Specific Implants to the Chulalongkorn University Council

On Thursday, 6 August 2026, the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University welcomed Prof. Special Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, President of the Chulalongkorn University Council, accompanied by distinguished council delegates, including Lieutenant General Rakchit Mommongkol (Advisor to the Council President and President of the University) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tilladit Rung-ruangkijkrai (Director of the Office of the University Council).
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the executive leadership of the Faculty of Engineering, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit (Dean), alongside Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nopdanai Ajavakom, Prof. Dr. Sawekchai Tangaramvong, Asst. Prof. Dr. Phongphaet Pengvanich, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atiwong Suchato.
The visit served as a landmark platform to demonstrate how university-backed academic research in engineering can successfully evolve into high-impact, commercially viable deep-tech medical solutions.

Prof. Dr. Boonrat Lohwongwatana (CEO) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chedtha Puncreobutr (CTO) presented Meticuly’s medical technology achievements alongside other faculty innovations, including Engine Life (medical materials), the PEG SHUNT glaucoma device project, and the Chulalongkorn University High Altitude Research Club (CUHAR).

Through close interdisciplinary collaboration between Chulalongkorn’s Faculty of Engineering and leading clinical institutions, Meticuly’s research team successfully tackled the fundamental challenge of traditional orthopaedic hardware: the limitation of standard, off-the-shelf implants. University research into titanium powder metallurgy and lattice structures laid the groundwork for manufacturing biocompatible hardware capable of seamless integration with human bone.

In complex maxillofacial reconstructions and jaw realignment, Meticuly offers a complete orthognathic solution. Combining virtual surgical planning with custom 3D-printed cutting guides and fixation plates, this system allows oral and maxillofacial surgeons to execute precise bone movements with absolute predictability, significantly reducing operative complexity and improving functional and aesthetic outcomes.
