Meticuly Hosts FTI Delegation for Study Visit on "Driving Business Growth Through Intellectual Property Utilisation"

How proprietary algorithmic design, additive manufacturing, and robust IP management are positioning Thailand at the forefront of personalised precision healthcare.
On Wednesday, 7 October 2026, Meticuly welcomed an executive delegation from the Creative Industry Development Institute (CISPI), operating under the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), for an immersive study visit entitled "Driving Business Growth Through Intellectual Property Utilisation."
Co-hosted in partnership with the PTT Innovation Institute, the event convened industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers to examine how strategic intellectual property (IP) frameworks convert high-tech biomedical engineering into commercially viable, patient-centric clinical solutions.
Intellectual Property as an Engine for Deep-Tech Scalability
In high-value advanced manufacturing, intellectual property extends well beyond defensive legal filing; it serves as a core commercial growth engine. For deep-tech biomedical enterprises, commercial viability depends on securing defensible patents across proprietary algorithmic architectures, custom anatomical design methodologies, and specialized additive manufacturing workflows.
Opening the formal session, Akkharawit Kanjana-Opas presented Meticuly’s strategic approach to IP lifecycle management. They outlined how safeguarding foundational intellectual assets enables domestic deep-tech firms to compete globally, maintain rigorous quality benchmarks, and secure sustainable investment in precision healthcare. The presentation detailed how an integrated IP roadmap mitigates infringement risks while unlocking cross-border licensing opportunities and collaborative research agreements.
Transforming Surgical Precision: From Algorithm to Titanium
Following the strategic IP briefing, Chedtha Puncreobutr (CTO) guided the delegation through Meticuly’s end-to-end design and manufacturing ecosystem.
Standard off-the-shelf medical hardware frequently requires intraoperative mechanical manipulation, which prolongs surgical time, increases anesthesia exposure, and elevates clinical risk. Meticuly resolves these constraints by coupling proprietary algorithmic design software with medical-grade metal additive manufacturing to engineer bespoke, patient-specific implants (PSIs).
Delegates received a step-by-step presentation of the digital-to-physical manufacturing pipeline:
Algorithmic Reconstruction: Transforming two-dimensional patient CT scans into high-fidelity three-dimensional anatomical models using internal proprietary algorithms.
Precision Additive Manufacturing: Deploying Direct Metal Laser Sintering 3D printing to fabricate titanium implants with porous lattice micro-geometries engineered to accelerate natural osseointegration.
Custom Surgical Instrumentation: Fabricating patient-matched surgical cutting guides and anatomical models that empower surgical teams to plan and execute complex procedures, such as Le Fort I maxillary advancements, with sub-millimeter accuracy.
By pairing patented design algorithms with specialised additive workflows, Meticuly delivers tailor-made implants that significantly decrease operating room duration, enhance structural fit, and accelerate post-operative recovery.
Fostering Cross-Sector Collaboration for Industrial Resilience
Hosting the FTI delegation at Meticuly and the PTT Innovation Institute highlighted the power of cross-sector partnerships in advancing national competitiveness. Developing domestic capabilities in advanced medical manufacturing reduces reliance on expensive imported implants, strengthens national supply chains, and ensures local healthcare systems can access world-class treatment.
By aligning research, industrial manufacturing, and IP management, Thailand is well-positioned to establish itself as a regional hub for medical technology and precision medicine.
The Path Forward: Defining the Standard in Reconstructive Care
Meticuly remains committed to deepening its collaboration with key industrial bodies such as the FTI and institutional research partners. By uniting home-grown engineering excellence, proactive IP capitalisation, and advanced metal 3D printing technology, Meticuly continues to advance surgical performance and elevate quality of life for patients across the region.
