On 31 July 2026, the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University highlighted the pivotal role of academic research in driving national competitiveness during The INTANIA Forum 2026. Held under the central theme "Surviving Under The New World Order" at the Hall of INTANIA, the forum convened prominent public sector figures, corporate executives, and academic pioneers to address Thailand’s strategic trajectory amidst rapid technological, economic, and geopolitical shifts.
The forum featured keynote addresses and panel presentations from leading national figures, university executives, and research innovators, including:
H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul — Prime Minister of Thailand
Auttapol Rerkpiboon — Advisor to the Prime Minister and former Minister of Energy
Kattiya Indaravijaya — CEO of Kasikornbank
Thammasak Sethaudom — President & CEO of SCG
Vitai Ratanakorn — Governor of the Bank of Thailand

A highlight of the event was the official deep-tech showcase, where Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, alongside senior officials and industry executives, toured the exhibition zone to examine how university-backed technological development is actively strengthening Thailand's medical self-reliance and global standing.
A Multi-Disciplinary Ecosystem: Showcasing Chula Engineering’s Flagship Spin-Offs
The INTANIA Forum 2026 served as a comprehensive exhibition of Chula Engineering’s diverse technological pipeline. Rather than focusing on a single discipline, the faculty highlighted a broad spectrum of academic enterprises and research clubs that translate university discovery into public benefit:
Meticuly (Medical Technology & Metallurgy) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boonrat Lohwongwatana and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chedtha Puncreobutr : Pioneering 3D-printed Patient-Specific Implant systems that convert diagnostic volumetric imaging into custom titanium bone reconstructions.
Engine Life Co., Ltd. (Medical Materials & Healthcare) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Juthamas Ratanavaraporn : Spearheading advanced biomaterials and specialized medical-grade material innovations aimed at elevating domestic healthcare infrastructure.
The PEG SHUNT Project (Ophthalmic Medical Devices) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veerasak Udomkichdecha : Developing customized glaucoma drainage devices designed to manage intraocular pressure and prevent vision loss in glaucoma patients.
Chulalongkorn University High Altitude Research Club (CUHAR) led by Aj. Joshua Staubs: Advancing aerospace engineering, atmospheric research, and high-altitude experimental rocket systems designed by next-generation student engineers.
Water Resources Engineering Research led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Phongsak Suttinon : Presenting sustainable water management frameworks and environmental data modeling to bolster national infrastructure resilience.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate the strength of Chula Engineering’s collaborative ecosystem—bringing together university faculty, clinical specialists, engineering alumni, and global partners.
