Meticuly recently held a training workshop on 3D bone model design using 3D printing technology. This initiative aimed to equip medical personnel with the knowledge and skills to leverage 3D printing for improved patient care. This event was part of an initiative to enhance the capabilities of medical personnel in treating patients using 3D printing technology.
The workshop was led by Col. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arkaphat Kosiyatrakul (3D PMK staff) Mr. Kantapat Phakdeewisetkul (Product Development Manager) and the Meticuly design team. This event was specifically targeted at Medical professionals interested in learning about 3D bone model design using 3D printing technology. This included surgeons, orthopedists, and other healthcare providers involved in bone reconstruction and repair procedures.
Equipping Medical Professionals with the Power of 3D Printing
The workshop delved into the fundamental principles and diverse applications of 3D printing technology within the medical field. Participants received practical training on creating 3D bone models from patient data, empowering them to translate medical imaging into tangible models for surgical planning and patient education for hands-on training. The workshop explored the various clinical implications of utilizing 3D-printed bone models which would be beneficial for cranial reconstruction, orthopaedic plate and complex implants. Participants gained a deeper understanding of how these models can enhance surgical planning, improve patient communication, and ultimately lead to better treatment outcomes.
The training covered the following topics:
Introduction to 3D printing technology for medical applications
3D bone model creation using medical imaging data
3D printing of bone models
Applications of 3D bone models in surgery and patient care
Benefits for Participants
The workshop offered a unique opportunity for medical professionals to:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of 3D bone model creation using 3D printing technology.
Develop the skills to create patient-specific 3D bone models, a valuable tool for surgical planning and patient education.
Enhance their knowledge of the diverse clinical applications of 3D printing within the medical field.
