What an incredible week at the 10th World Congress of the International Academy of Oral Oncology (IAOO) from July 16-19. Our team has returned inspired by the dedication and expertise shared in Liverpool. We want to extend our sincerest thanks to every surgeon, oncologist, and researcher who visited us at Booth 23.
The congress highlighted the vital importance of a multidisciplinary approach, with a palpable focus on the patient's entire journey—from diagnosis to reconstruction. We were honored to contribute to the conversation and discuss the critical role of reconstructive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in a patient's journey.
Spotlight on reconstruction: the patient-specific implant in Oral Oncology
For patients undergoing treatment for oral cancer, the reconstructive phase is paramount to restoring quality of life. The challenges and importance of precision in these complex procedures is where Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery plays a vital role.
We were proud to showcase how the patient specific mandible reconstruction plate is directly addressing this challenge. Patient-Specific Implants are providing surgeons with the tools for predictable, accurate, and functionally optimised reconstructions. Key benefits that resonated with IAOO attendees include:
Anatomical fidelity: Precisely restoring the patient's original anatomy for superior functional and aesthetic results after tumor removal.
Predictable outcomes: The use of 3D virtual surgical planning allows the entire reconstruction to be mapped out before entering the operating theatre. This eliminates guesswork and provides the surgeon with unparalleled confidence.
Reduced operative time: Improving efficiency in complex mandibular and maxillary reconstructions, which is beneficial for both the patient and the surgical team.
Thank you again for making the IAOO 2025 World Congress a landmark event. We are committed to supporting the oral oncology community and look forward to collaborating to advance patient care.
