The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Annual Scientific Meeting has always been a beacon for the brightest minds in the field. This year, as the US Meticuly team exhibited our latest advancements, we were reminded that while technology is our tool, the surgeon is our greatest partner.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to every neurosurgeon, researcher, and medical professional who visited our booth. Your insights, your challenging questions, and your dedication to patient outcomes are what drive us to push the boundaries of medical manufacturing.
The Path from Craniectomy to Cranioplasty Reconstruction
A recurring theme in our conversations at AANS was the complex clinical journey following a Craniectomy. Whether performed for trauma, stroke, or tumor resection, the initial life-saving decompression is only the first half of the story.
The subsequent Cranioplasty—the reconstruction of the cranial defect—is where the patient’s recovery truly takes a leap forward. At Meticuly, we recognise that this procedure is about more than just protection; it is about restoring the "normalcy" of a patient’s life. By providing surgeons with digital tools, we aim to make this final step as predictable and precise as the life-saving measures that preceded it.
Elevating the Standard with the Patient-Specific Implant (PSI)
The centerpiece of our exhibition in the USA was our 3D-printed Patient-Specific Cranioplasty Implant (PSI). We were honored to demonstrate to the global neurosurgical community how a digital-first workflow can eliminate the traditional "trial and error" often seen with standard mesh or bone cement.
At AANS, we highlighted how our PSIs offer:
Anatomical Restoration: Precisely engineered from patient CT data to restore the complex curves and symmetry of the human skull.
Operative Efficiency: Designed to seat perfectly on the first attempt, significantly reducing time under anesthesia—a benefit that was highly praised by the surgeons we met.
Material Innovation: Utilizing medical-grade titanium to ensure long-term structural integrity and biocompatibility.
Exhibiting at AANS allowed us to witness firsthand the incredible passion within the American and international neurosurgical communities. We were inspired by the stories shared by surgeons who are constantly seeking better ways to care for their patients.
At Meticuly, we believe that behind every cranioplasty is a person waiting to return to their family, their work, and their community. Our mission is to provide the precision tools—the Patient-Specific Implant—that help make that return possible.
Once again, thank you to everyone who made AANS 2026 a success. We are returning from the USA with a renewed sense of purpose and look forward to the collaborations that will shape the future of neurosurgical care.
