Explore how HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s royal initiative is bringing together 3d printing and MobiiScan technology to provide advanced orthognathic solution and Patient-Specific Implant care to patients in need.

On 23 March 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the annual board meeting of the Information Technology Foundation under her Royal Initiative. A pivotal highlight of the session involved the presentation of the MobiiScan — a mobile 3D CT scanner developed in Thailand — and its transformative role in treating complex craniofacial conditions.

A Royal Vision for Medical Equality

The Information Technology Foundation has long been dedicated to reducing social inequality through science and technology. In this latest milestone, the Phattanarak Center of Naresuan University demonstrated how home-grown innovations are providing world-class care to patients with cleft lips, palates, and significant jaw deformities.

Integrating MobiiScan with Patient-Specific Implants

The synergy between high-resolution imaging and precision engineering is redefining the standard for Orthognathic Surgery. By utilising the MobiiScan for initial 3D surgical planning, surgeons can achieve an unprecedented level of accuracy.

Meticuly serves as the technical partner in this breakthrough initiative, translating digital scans into tangible results. We provide an orthognathic solution by integrating AI-assisted design with medical-grade 3d printing.

The integration of 3d printing technology offers several key benefits:

  • Precision Planning: 3D imaging from MobiiScan allows for the creation of a "digital twin" of the patient’s skull.

  • Anatomical Perfection: Every Patient-Specific Implant (PSI) and surgical guide is bespoke, engineered to fit the patient's unique bone structure perfectly.

  • Surgical Efficiency: These custom solutions significantly reduce intraoperative adjustments and overall theatre time.

  • Functional Recovery: Higher accuracy in jaw alignment leads to superior aesthetic results and improved long-term outcomes.

Bridging the Gap in Healthcare

Assistant Professor Piriya Naruekhatpichai, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Naresuan University, and Assistant Professor Saran Worasakwutiphong, M.D., Acting Director of Phattanarak Center, participated in this royal meeting, showcasing the success of combining public research with private-sector innovation.

At Meticuly, we remain committed to supporting these royal initiatives, ensuring that advanced medical technology is accessible to those who need it most, regardless of their background.
