Following an inspiring week of clinical exchange and technical presentations, Meticuly has successfully concluded its participation at the 100th Anniversary Meeting of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons (SBNS 100).

Held from 12 to 16 October 2026 at the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Centre in the heart of London, the landmark centenary event brought together the wider neuroscience and surgical community under the theme: "Unlocking minds, illuminating futures: A century of surgical neuroscience." Engaging directly with consultant neurosurgeons, registrars, and clinical researchers, Meticuly presented its latest digital workflows and 3D-printed solutions, demonstrating how custom titanium technology supports predictable outcomes in complex cranial reconstruction and Cranioplasty.

Anatomical Fit in Cranioplasty Solutions

A key focus of the Meticuly showcase at SBNS 100 was the clinical application of medical-grade titanium to resolve cranial defects resulting from trauma, decompressive craniectomies, oncological resections, and congenital abnormalities.

Traditional reconstructive techniques often require manual shaping of generic mesh or intraoperative curing of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) acrylics, which can prolong operative duration and risk structural or cosmetic irregularities. In response to these clinical challenges, Meticuly highlighted:

  • CT-to-Implant Accuracy: Direct conversion of thin-slice volumetric CT data into a customised titanium plate that restores exact cranial symmetry and curvature.

  • Seamless Margin Integration: Low-profile, contoured margins engineered to align flush against the native temporal, frontal, or parietal bone edges, eliminating palpable ridges and dead space beneath the scalp.

  • Protective Structural Rigidity: High-strength titanium architecture designed to safeguard cerebral parenchyma while accommodating soft tissue healing without thermal conductivity concerns.

  • Porous Fixation Interfaces: Additively manufactured porous boundary zones optimised to support tissue adherence and stable, long-term mechanical anchorage.

Supporting UK Neurosurgery and NHS Integration

With existing UK MHRA compliance and active entry into the NHS Supply Chain, Meticuly provides neurosurgical departments across the UK with efficient procurement routes to bespoke custom solutions. By aligning academic rigor with responsive clinical engineering, Meticuly continues to support neurosurgical teams in delivering reliable, anatomically exact Cranioplasty reconstructions that enhance patient recovery and quality of life.
