Patient-specific Cranial Mesh

Patient-specific Cranial Mesh is a personalized cranioplasty solution designed and manufactured by professional surgeons and engineers collaborating to match the unique skull shape of each individual patient. Our personalised cranioplasty solution allows patients suffering from tumors, severe traumatic brain injuries, or severe acute strokes to regain their original skull shape back as the solution is designed to meet both aesthetic and satisfaction levels that a standard-size implant is still incapable of reaching.

Cranial reconstruction is designed preoperatively to match the anatomical bone shape and aesthetic outcomes of each individual with micron-precision. Preoperative plans including fixation points as well as contour designs are outlined by our skillful engineers, then adjusted in line with surgeons’ suggestions in order to ensure the desired clinical outcomes.

Our patient-specific Cranial Mesh is designed for not only aesthetic aspects, but also facilitation of cranioplasty surgery to complete with fewer steps and complications. Fixation points are planned preoperatively, hence our implants can fit perfectly with patients’ anatomy. With the perfect size and shape of our implants, the operating theater time is significantly reduced as there is no need for any adjustments.

Our patient-specific Cranial Mesh is made of titanium, which has the lowest rate of potential infection when compared to autogenous bone grafts, PMMA-based, and ceramic materials which other implants are manufactured from. It also provides higher strength than conventional PMMA and PEEK prosthesis.

Because of its unique features and benefits

you are able to manage and have a greater control over each individual surgery

Features & Benefits

Thin, yet still robust
Overall thickness of 0.5 mm is for aesthetics, weight reduction and X-ray artifact avoidance. However, it still retains  adequate strength that withstand external pressure from day-to-day activities.

Mesh structure
Titanium mesh is designed to reduce overall prosthesis weight and aid in drainage of cerebrospinal fluid

Dural tenting
The mesh integrates fixation points for temporalis muscle suspension and dural tenting sutures

Low profile screw fixation
In-built non-locking screw fixtures are designed to secure cranioplasty to the skull base, minimizing the need for extra fixation plates. Countersunk screw holes serve to hide screw heads from bulging above the prosthesis’ outer surface to prevent an uneven appearance.

Pre-Operative Planning Solution

We fully customize, review and plan the best cranioplasty solution for patients using 3D visualization. Together with surgeons, surgical guides and implant designs are planned preoperatively by our skillful engineers in order to give you greater control over your operating theatre time. With our experienced team, surgeons can extensively express their ideas and adjust desired implants based on their techniques and concerns.

High accuracy and precision with surgical guides

A surgical guide replicating a patient’s cranial bone defect is designed to enhance the accuracy of pre-operative planning while a cutting guide is designed based on cranial bone contour to enhance the accuracy during the intra-operation.
